Now our February Challenge
Yes, this is a proper building and not just a pile of old containers!
The challenge this month is to use COLOUR BLOCKING PLUS A HOLIDAY PHOTO.

I suggested to Libby that 4th July photos were appropriate because of the colour scheme, but you don't have to use red, white and blue.

Our prize this month is kindly brought to us by Scrapbooking Delights and the hilarious Sandra Henderson Staples.

Visit her store or online to say thank you. This package is awesome.
A reminder to Non Australian entrants, if you want this prize, you will pay the postage.
Now here's what the girls have created.............
                                                               LIBBY

Layout title, "Celebrate Independence."

The criteria is to use color blocking and July 4th photos.  Everything was matted (blocked) in black.  The photos were taken this past summer when everyone was home and able to march (in uniform) in the July 4th Parade.

Red, white and blue flowers were added above the border and a sticker heart was added on the bottom photo.  The banner border is K&Co.  The gems are home made.  Swirly bling adds some "flair" to my page.  Sketch is Page Maps (Aug 2007).

The corrugated cardboard, reminds me of the corrugated iron on the original photo.
The Bonvoyage is also a travel theme, the tiny pictures in the arched window are from Venice.
We went to Venice in 97,I have so many lovely memories of that time.

The very first thing I saw was the caravan - it just screamed out at me and I remembered a time which seems so long ago now, when I went caravaning in something that looked remarkably like this.

I was very inspired to create a LO about our camper trailer, after seeing this fab inspiration of the containers & caravan – what a top photo!

We have owned this camper trailer for 6 years, & it has taken us many places – but wherever we have camped it has stormed…all our friends & family would not go away when we did, cos they knew the statistics!  So to work on this SOLD LO was a thrill for me, cos I was over the ‘joys’ of camping. I used yellows, reds, blues & grey along with a ‘stacked’ styled page.

I made a double page layout using the blocks of the protector sleeves as the blocks from the picture. The holiday part came from the photos I took when we stopped at  "The Devil's Marbles" in the Northern Territory. Making the layouts this way was a bit different from making full page ones so it was abit different to what I am use to doing. It was quicker though!

I used the grid pattern in the picture and the colours for inspiration. I cut up 7 photos to get this look with the pictures...I tend to take lots of pictures of the same thing from different angles so I end up with a huge amount of photos of the same thing...Using the grid inspiration I trimmed the photos so they only showed my son instead of all the background too and then lined them all up...a great way to use 7 photos on a page.  I then used various masks and pattern paper on the background...a simple yet effective look to copy the grid pattern.

Where's Dale???????????????
She has something special lined up a little later in the month.

I'm sure you will agree these are all wonderful.Let's see what you can do with COLOUR BLOCKING WITH A HOLIDAY PHOTO.
