September challenge

Here's the stimulus picture for September. It is the gold facade on the Brill Building in New York.

Recently renovated and it certainly shines.

Our challenge this month is to use gold accents on your layout or card.

Perhaps you could get started on those Christmas cards or a special wedding layout etc.

Here's 3 of my layouts to get you thinking:

Gold flower, 3 gold buttons, gold butterfly

                                                                     Gold mist, gold star

                                                      Gold bling, gold corrugated card.

Our Design team have come up with some lovely ideas too.

July challenge

Don't get distressed but we are doing distressed this month!

Get out those inks and sandpaper to dirty up your entries. You can even tear into your papers or use mists in appropriate colours to dirty your page.

Here's our picture

Make it as dirty and distressed as this house and car. Some examples below.

I'll be providing your prize this month.

Our winner for last month was Jane Howden.

Here's the DT ladies examples for you

                                                                       JULENE

I dirtied up the paper using mists and paint plus inking around the edges.
By using mixed alphas it has that haphazard look.

                                                                             DALE

I was inspired by the wood at the front of the house. I used distress inks in forst oak and aged mahogany and done 2 types of tearing of paper.

                                                                         BUFFY

It's distressed and a bit grungy.

                                                                      BARB

The background tearing plus the chipboard gave these old photos a distressed look. Note the splats of coffee or tea.

June Challenge

The year is half over and where has that time gone?

We have another exciting challenge for you in June.

This is the Haynes shoe house

Take a look at our photos of the newly renovated, historic The Haines Shoe House!! The shoe is now an Air bnb ready for booking in November!
Built by Mahlon Haines in 1948 to promote his shoe stores, the house was initially provided as a vacation spot for newlyweds and senior couples. Subsequent owners have offered it for public rental or operated it as a museum and ice cream shop. Most recently, it is an Airbnb rental property.
