November challenge

It's November! By now you have started the Christmas shopping and thinking about the festivities.

We hope you can find time to join us this month.

Here's a house on wheels.
It prompted me straight away to think Steampunk
The challenge is to do something with steampunk.

Our sponsor this month is Craft Queen

Look at these examples

Firstly I saw this on "Off the rails" challenge"

Then there's these

Steampunk is more than just putting a few cogs on a page
It is a look back to Victorian times and the age of inventions. People were building and experimenting with all kinds of machinery.

Search Pinterest for more ideas, there's thousands of them. Everything from eye charts to helicopters!

steam·punk
[ˈstiːmpʌŋk]
NOUN
  1. a genre of science fiction that has a historical setting and typically features steam-powered machinery rather than advanced technology:

  2. Let's look at what the ladies have come up with.
  3.                                                              DALE

  4. Dale has used clocks, cogs, Victorian fashion and old tickets.

                                                                      BARB
Barb's photo couldn't be better the lady's dress has a clock on it! There's also cogs, chains, keys and that wonderful wire.
                                                                           TRISH

Between these 2 cards you have locks and key, goggles, fancy door latch, bracket, books, old buttons, cogs. And old tape/ribbon plus the fashion on the girl.
                                                                            BUFFY

The cat dressed in steampunk gear epitomises it. Look closely for ideas.

                                                                               JULENE

This layout was done for the above "Off the rails" challenge back in 2017.
I've used the wonderful photo from the museum of decorative arts in Paris that I took. I added hot air balloon, cogs, a clock face, keys and lock and an old postcard.

I also did this card which features hot air balloons, old luggage and neutral/sepia background.

Hopefully all that has you inspired to do something. We look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Our winner for October is Sharon Bishop.

We have had musical challenges before, so I went a different way with this one.

Your challenge for October is to use string.

It can be any kind of project (paper based) with any kind of string.

Our ladies on the Design Team have outdone themselves again. Putting their imagination into it.

September challenge

Springing into spring here and it's time for another challenge.

As you drive through Junee in South West NSW you pass this enormous set of silos.

This inspired this month's challenge.

We want you to use rolled paper on your layout or card.

Here's one I made with the original photos

There's other example I found to show you variety of this technique

I usually use a long skewer when doing the straight rolls but you can also use a pencil.

Here's what our lovely ladies have made to inspire you.
