Caravanning with Dale

Here is a special February post from our DT member, Dale.

I created an album for my Dad using a Kaisercraft caravan album. It was a Father's Day gift and he had just retired and started caravanning with my Mum.

It starts out like this.

I painted around all of the edges first as I wanted them to be coloured.

Then I chose lots of Basic Grey papers that co-ordinated and matched my theme, which was outdoors/fishing.

I mod podged on to the album to adhere my papers. I did one side first, waited til that dried, then did the other.

The first page was tricky because of all the "windows". I cut around them using the craft knife for the first side.

The second was trickier. I had to almost guess where they were.

I asked my Mum to secretly provide me with a selection of photos of my Dad and I have adhered these to the pages next.

One photo I had I wanted to show through the "window" on the front of the album as if my Dad were looking through it.

This photo is actually on the third page as two of the holes go through the second page as well.

I've used a variety of stickers, quotes and specialty embellishments and die-cuts to enhance each page.

Lastly I added some ribbons to the jump rings. I also added a clothing tag which I have added fish to, just for a bit of fun.

These albums are such a great keepsake and fun to craft as well.

Maybe you will be inspired to make something wonderful like this as your challenge item.
What are you waiting for?
