Happy Mother's Day to all the Mums and Grandmothers out there!
This month we want you to go on a flight of fancy.
Our picture is a door and window that dreamed of being a garden. It is Art Nouveau and probably in a museum somewhere.
Use fantasy creatures (not just fairies) or imaginary places or buildings in your work.
Maybe you always wanted to live in a tree or a mushroom. Maybe you've been inspired by a fairy story from your youth. Are you a Harry Potter fan? There's lots of scope there to imagine things.
We are sponsored this month by Art Stacks.
Our winner for April is
Here's the ideas from the DT .
Firstly mine.
My daughter bought a pair of chucks sneakers in bright red sparkles. When I saw them,I immediately thought of the Wizard of Oz. From there came the blue gingham idea and as her toes pointed up in the photo, I thought I could do the layout as if Dorothy was looking down.
The gingham became her dress which I trimmed with white ricrac. Next I cut tiny yellow rectangles to make the path. I hand drew the 3 characters and the town of Oz in the distance. (plus Toto.)
I added flowers in a variety of sizes and colours in the foreground. My title came back to the shoes and Dorothy saying "There's no place like home" Of course I used red sparkly letters.
EMMA
My 95 year old great aunty used to be "the fairy" when I was little. She would walk in the door and dip in her pockets then throw confetti everywhere. She would say the fairy is here.
Emma also made a fairy card
DALE
The photos on her background paper march this in the stimulus picture. Dale did a layout about Fantasy books.
BUFFY
Blame it all on the unicorn. LOL
TRISH
Trish sprinkled around some fairy dust.
This is a good topic and I hope you will join us. Its a good prize too,
